Lloyd Cassel Douglas (August 27, 1877 – February 13, 1951) was an American minister and author of popular religious novels. He was born in Columbia City, Indiana, and graduated from Wabash College in 1899. He was ordained as a minister in the Presbyterian Church in 1903. Douglas wrote several novels, including Magnificent Obsession (1929), Green Light (1931), The Robe (1942), and The Big Fisherman (1948). His books were popular in the 1930s and 1940s, and were made into several films. He was also a frequent contributor to magazines such as The Saturday Evening Post and The Ladies Home Journal. Douglas died in 1951 in Los Angeles, California.
