Louis Bromfield (1896–1956) was an American author and conservationist. He was born in Mansfield, Ohio, and attended Cornell University and Columbia University. Bromfield served in World War I and later became a successful novelist, winning the Pulitzer Prize for his novel "Early Autumn" in 1927. He was also known for his work in sustainable agriculture, founding Malabar Farm in Ohio, which became a model for organic farming practices. Bromfield's writing often reflected his interests in rural life and environmental issues.
