Mabel G. Taggart is an American author and illustrator. She is best known for her children's books, which have been published in over twenty countries. She has written and illustrated over twenty books, including the popular series, The Adventures of Little Red Riding Hood, which has been adapted into a feature film. Taggart was born in New York City and grew up in the Bronx. She attended the High School of Art and Design and the School of Visual Arts. She has a degree in illustration from the Fashion Institute of Technology. Taggart has been writing and illustrating books for over twenty years. Her work has been featured in magazines, newspapers, and on television. She has also been a guest speaker at schools and libraries. Taggart lives in New York City with her husband and two children. She is currently working on her next book.
