Margaret "Margi" Preus is an American author known for her historical fiction novel, "Heart of a Samurai." Born in 1950 in Minneapolis, Minnesota, Preus grew up with a love for storytelling and history. She earned a degree in English literature from Carleton College and later taught high school English before turning to writing full-time. Preus's debut novel, "Heart of a Samurai," was published in 2010 and tells the story of a young Japanese American boy who travels to Japan to train as a samurai during the Meiji Restoration.
