Mary Huestis Pengilly (1868-1951) was an American author and educator. She was born in Providence, Rhode Island, and graduated from Smith College in 1890. She taught at the Rhode Island School of Design and the Rhode Island Normal School. She wrote several books, including The Story of the Pilgrims (1902), The Story of the Puritans (1903), and The Story of the Quakers (1904). She also wrote several books of poetry, including The Poems of Mary Huestis Pengilly (1909). She was a member of the Rhode Island Historical Society and the Providence Art Club.
