Michael Arlen (1895–1956) was a British-Armenian writer, born Dikran Kouyoumdjian in Bulgaria. He gained fame in the 1920s for his novel "The Green Hat," which epitomized the Jazz Age. Arlen's works often explored themes of romance and social dynamics among the British upper class. He became a naturalized British citizen in 1922 and was known for his stylish prose and wit.
