Murray F. Yaco (1917-2006) was an American author and educator. He was born in New York City and attended the City College of New York. He served in the United States Army during World War II and was awarded the Bronze Star. After the war, he earned a master's degree in education from Columbia University. Yaco was a professor of education at the University of Bridgeport in Connecticut for over 30 years. He wrote several books, including Unspecialist (1959), which was a collection of essays on education and teaching. He also wrote several books on the history of Bridgeport, Connecticut. Yaco was a member of the American Association of University Professors and the National Education Association. He was also a member of the Bridgeport Historical Society and the Bridgeport Rotary Club. He was an active member of the Bridgeport community and was involved in many civic and charitable organizations.
