Norman Douglas was a British writer, born on December 8th, 1868 in Thüringen, Austria-Hungary and died on February 7th, 1952 in Capri, Italy. He is best known for his novels "South Wind" (1917) and "Goodbye to Western Culture" (1935). Douglas was also a travel writer and wrote extensively about his experiences in Italy and Greece.
