Paco Ignacio Taibo II is a Mexican author and historian, born on January 11, 1949, in Gijón, Spain. He is known for his crime novels and historical works. Taibo moved to Mexico in 1958 and became a prominent figure in Mexican literature. He is best known for his detective series featuring the character Héctor Belascoarán Shayne. Taibo has also written extensively on historical figures and events, including a biography of Che Guevara. He has received numerous awards for his contributions to literature.
