Richard C. Squires (1917-2006) was an American squash and tennis coach, author, and sports administrator. He was the founder of the Squash Tennis Association and the author of the book Squash Tennis (1968). Squires was born in New York City and attended the University of Pennsylvania, where he was a member of the varsity squash team. He was a professional squash and tennis coach for over 40 years, and was the head squash and tennis pro at the Harvard Club of Boston for over 20 years. Squires was a member of the United States Squash Racquets Association (USSRA) and served as its president from 1965 to 1967. He was also a member of the United States Professional Tennis Association (USPTA) and served as its president from 1971 to 1973. Squires was inducted into the USSRA Hall of Fame in 1975 and the USPTA Hall of Fame in 1977. He was also the recipient of the USPTA's Lifetime Achievement Award in 2000.
