Robert Arthur (1909-1969) was an American author and editor best known for his work in the mystery and science fiction genres. He wrote more than 200 stories and books, including the popular Three Investigators series. He also edited the Alfred Hitchcock Mystery Magazine and wrote for radio and television. Arthur was born in New York City and attended Columbia University. He began his writing career in the 1930s, and his first published work was a short story in the pulp magazine Thrilling Mystery in 1934. He went on to write for many other magazines, including The Shadow, Weird Tales, and Astounding Science Fiction. He also wrote several novels, including The Mysterious Traveler (1944) and The Mysterious Stranger (1946). Arthur was a prolific writer, and his work was praised for its originality and wit. He was also known for his ability to create suspenseful and thrilling stories.
