Robert Dean Frisbie (1908-1982) was an American author and editor. He was born in San Francisco, California, and attended the University of California, Berkeley. He began his career as a journalist, working for the San Francisco Chronicle and the San Francisco Examiner. He later became an editor for the publishing house Doubleday, where he worked for over twenty years. Frisbie wrote several books, including The Silent and the Damned (1958), The Silent and the Damned II (1960), and The Silent and the Damned III (1962). He also wrote several short stories, which were published in various magazines. He was a member of the Authors Guild and the Mystery Writers of America. Frisbie was known for his interest in the occult and paranormal, and wrote several books on the subject, including The Occult World of Robert Dean Frisbie (1962) and The Occult World of Robert Dean Frisbie II (1965). He was also a member of the Theosophical Society. Frisbie died in 1982 in San Francisco.
