Ruth Cobb (1902-1989) was an American author and illustrator of children's books. She was born in New York City and studied at the Art Students League. She wrote and illustrated over 30 books, including the popular "The Little Red Hen" and "The Three Little Pigs". Her books were praised for their vivid illustrations and simple, direct storytelling. She was also a successful commercial artist, creating illustrations for magazines and advertisements. She was a member of the Society of Illustrators and the Authors Guild.
