Salvador Brau (1842-1911) was a Puerto Rican writer, journalist, and politician. He was born in San Juan, Puerto Rico, and studied in Spain. He was a prolific writer, publishing numerous books, articles, and essays. He was also a prominent politician, serving as a member of the Puerto Rican House of Representatives and Senate. He was a strong advocate for Puerto Rican independence and was a leader in the Puerto Rican independence movement. He was also a strong advocate for the rights of women and the poor. He is considered one of the most important figures in Puerto Rican literature and politics.
