Sophia Margaretta Hensley (1890-1962) was an American author and poet. She was born in New York City and attended the University of Michigan. She wrote several books of poetry, including The Poems of Sophia Margaretta Hensley (1919), The Poems of Sophia Margaretta Hensley, Second Series (1921), and The Poems of Sophia Margaretta Hensley, Third Series (1925). She also wrote a novel, The House of the Seven Gables (1922). Her work was praised by critics for its lyrical beauty and its exploration of themes such as love, death, and nature. She was a member of the Poetry Society of America and the National League of American Pen Women.
