T.J. Cobden-Sanderson

T.J. Cobden-Sanderson (1840-1922) was an English bookbinder, typographer, and designer. He was a major figure in the Arts and Crafts Movement, and is best known for his work on the Doves Press, a private press he founded with Emery Walker in 1900. Cobden-Sanderson was a passionate advocate for the revival of traditional craftsmanship and the use of hand-made materials, and his work was highly influential in the development of modern bookbinding and typography. He was also a prolific writer, publishing several books on the history and practice of bookbinding and typography.
