EPIGRAMS. From the Persian

Epigrams from the Persian is a collection of epigrams translated from the Persian language by Thomas James Wise. The epigrams are taken from the works of the Persian poets Saadi, Hafiz, and Jami, and are presented in both the original Persian and English translations. The epigrams are divided into sections based on the poet, and each section is prefaced with a brief biography of the poet. The epigrams cover a wide range of topics, from love and friendship to philosophy and religion. The book also includes a brief introduction to the history and culture of Persia.
