Peckett Prest (1821–1895) was an English author and journalist. He was born in London, the son of a workseller, and was educated at a private school in Islington. He began his career as a journalist in 1841, writing for the Morning Chronicle and other newspapers. He later became a prolific author, writing over 100 books, including novels, biographies, and histories. His works include The Life of Napoleon Bonaparte (1851), The Life of Lord Nelson (1852), and The Life of Sir Walter Scott (1853). He also wrote several books on the history of London, including The History of London from the Earliest Period to the Present Time (1863). He was a member of the Royal Historical Society and the Royal Society of Literature.
