Vernon Houseman (1872-1951) was an American author and journalist. He was born in New York City and attended Columbia University. He wrote several books, including An Eye for an Eye A Story of the War, which was published in 1900. He was a correspondent for the New York Herald during the Spanish-American War and wrote several books about the war. He also wrote several books about the American West, including The Trail of the Red Man and The Trail of the White Man. He died in 1951 in California.
