Vicente Blasco Ibáñez

Vicente Blasco Ibáñez (1867-1928) was a Spanish novelist and playwright. He was born in Valencia, Spain, and studied law at the University of Valencia. He began his writing career in 1891 with the publication of his first novel, La Barraca. He went on to write over 50 novels, plays, and short stories, many of which were adapted into films. His works often focused on the struggles of the working class and the injustices of the Spanish social system. He was a vocal advocate for the rights of the working class and was a prominent figure in the Spanish labor movement. He died in Menton, France, in 1928.
