The Place of Dragons
The Place of Dragons is a novel by William le Queux that was published in 1906. The story follows the adventures of two young men, Jack and Dick, who travel to China in search of a lost city known as the "Place of Dragons." Along the way, they encounter various obstacles and dangers, including hostile natives and treacherous terrain. Eventually, they reach their destination and discover that the legendary dragon is actually a giant lizard-like creature that guards a hidden treasure. The book is considered an early example of the "lost world" genre in literature.
