William Wollaston (1659–1724) was an English philosopher and theologian. He is best known for his work "The Religion of Nature Delineated" (1722), which argues that moral truths are discoverable through reason and that living in accordance with these truths constitutes true religion. Wollaston was educated at Sidney Sussex College, Cambridge, and later became a schoolmaster and rector. His philosophical ideas influenced Enlightenment thinkers and contributed to the development of deism.
