Ying Chang Compestine is an award-winning author, educator, and speaker. She has written over twenty books for children and adults, including Revolution Is Not a Dinner Party, The Story of Noodles, and The Chinese Emperor’s New Clothes. Her books have been translated into more than twenty languages and have won numerous awards, including the Sydney Taylor Book Award, the Golden Kite Award, and the International Reading Association Award. She has been featured in the New York Times, the Wall Street Journal, and on NPR. She is a frequent speaker at schools, libraries, and conferences, and she has taught writing and literature at the University of California, Berkeley.
