Yung Wing (1828–1912) was a Chinese-American scholar and diplomat. He was the first Chinese student to graduate from an American university, earning a degree from Yale College in 1854. Yung Wing is known for his efforts to modernize China, including organizing the Chinese Educational Mission, which sent Chinese students to study in the United States. He authored "My Life in China and America," detailing his experiences and contributions.
