Homily, Mass for Educators-April 9, 2003, Wednesday in the Fifth Week of Lent.
Today in the last week of Lent, Jesus talks to us in a bipolarity of freedom and slavery. It is every person's battle: to be free or to be a slave... and it goes to the heart of each of us. it goes to our own being, it challenges us: Are you free or a slave? Are you free with the spontaneity that gives you the coherence of being a person? Or are you a slave because of the conditioning you accept, because of the limits you let turn into sin or simply because of autonomy?
