One Sunday a few years ago, I had just finished preaching and was greeting people and giving fist bumps when I noticed a thirtysomething White guy running toward me from the back of the room. Is he running to attack me? I wondered. I was not sure, but I needed to be ready just in case. As he got closer, I saw snot swinging from his nostrils and tears pouring down his face. Before I knew it, he was hugging me. I suspect the dangling snot ended up on my clothes.
