Homily, Solemn Te Deum for New National Authorities-December 11, 1999 (Transcript).
Ask me anything you would like, God said to Solomon. And Solomon asked him for wisdom to govern. And God praised him. The Lord was pleased that Solomon made that request and said: "Because you have asked for this and you have not asked for a long life, nor wealth, nor the life of your enemies, but you have asked for a wise heart. " (1 Kgs 3: 11). That gesture of Solomon looking at the sky, because he knows he is small. Your servant, he says to God, is in the middle of your people, I am a boy. We would say in Buenos Aires: "I am a nobody. "1 The humble heart of a ruler who looks up and asks for wisdom.
