The Man in the Brown Suit

Anne Beddingfield is a young woman who is determined to make her own way in the world. After her father's death, she decides to leave her home in South Africa and travel to London. Once in London, Anne finds a job as a typist and quickly discovers that she is being followed by a mysterious man in a brown suit. She soon learns that the man is a private detective hired by her late father's lawyer to keep an eye on her.
