Ambrose Pratt (1874–1944)

Ambrose Pratt (1872-1944) was an Australian author and journalist. He was born in Sydney and educated at Sydney Grammar School. He began his career as a journalist in 1891, working for the Sydney Morning Herald and the Sydney Mail. He wrote several books, including The History of Australia (1902), The Story of Australia (1906), and The Making of Australia (1909). He also wrote several novels, including The Golden Fleece (1912) and The Valley of the White Waters (1914). He was a prolific writer, and his works were widely read in Australia and abroad. He was a member of the Royal Society of Literature and the Australian Journalists' Association. He died in 1944 in Sydney.
