Arthur J. Rees (1876-1943) was an English author and journalist. He was born in London and educated at the City of London School. He began his career as a journalist, writing for the Daily Mail and other newspapers. He later became a prolific author, writing over 50 books, mostly crime fiction and detective stories. His most famous works include The Riddle of the Sands (1903), The House of the Arrow (1924), and The Mystery of the Green Ray (1927). He was also a noted playwright, writing several plays for the London stage. Rees was a member of the Detection Club, a group of British mystery writers, and was a close friend of Agatha Christie. He died in 1943 in London.
