The Pie and the Patty-Pan

The Pie and the Patty-Pan is a children's book written by Beatrix Potter, first published in 1904. The story follows two mice, Peter and his wife, who live in a cozy little nest in a garden. One day, while out foraging for food, they come across a delicious-smelling pie left unattended by a careless gardener. The mice are intrigued and decide to investigate, but their curiosity leads them into trouble when they accidentally roll the pie down a hill and it breaks apart. The mice are devastated by their mistake and try to find a way to repair the pie, but it is too late. They learn a valuable lesson about being careful and responsible, and the importance of taking things slowly and not getting carried away by impulsive actions. The story ends with Peter and his wife returning home empty-handed, but wiser and more cautious than before.
