C. T. Studd

Charles Thomas Studd (1860-1931) was a British missionary, cricketer, and evangelist. He was born in England to a wealthy family and was educated at Eton and Cambridge. He was a successful cricketer, playing for England in the 1880s. He was converted to Christianity in 1885 and soon after gave up his cricket career to become a missionary. He served in China, India, and Africa, and was a leader in the China Inland Mission. He was known for his bold evangelism and his commitment to the poor. He wrote several books, including the autobiography, If I Had a Thousand Lives. He died in 1931 in Africa.
