Charles A. Lindbergh (1902–1974) was an American aviator, author, inventor, and military officer. He gained fame for making the first solo nonstop flight across the Atlantic Ocean in 1927. As an author, he wrote several books, including "We," which details his historic flight, and "The Spirit of St. Louis," which won the Pulitzer Prize for Biography or Autobiography in 1954. Lindbergh was also involved in various scientific and environmental causes throughout his life.
