Charles A. Stearns

Charles A. Stearns (1917-2006) was an American author and illustrator of children's books. He was born in New York City and attended the Art Students League of New York. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II, and afterwards worked as an illustrator for the New York Times. He wrote and illustrated over 30 books, including B-12's Moon Glow, which was published in 1954. He was a member of the Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators, and was awarded the Golden Kite Award for his book, The Magic of the Glits. He died in 2006 in New York.
