Edward Peattie (1892-1958) was an American author and illustrator. He was born in Chicago, Illinois, and studied at the Art Institute of Chicago. He wrote and illustrated several books, including The Book of Nature Myths (1922), The Book of Animal Life (1924), and The Book of Bird Life (1925). He also wrote and illustrated several books for children, including The Little People of the Snow (1925) and The Little People of the Forest (1927). He was a member of the Society of Illustrators and the National Academy of Design. He died in 1958 in New York City.
