The poem tells the story of a traveller who has been on a long journey and returns home to find that his loved one has died. The traveller had been away for many years, and during that time, he had forgotten about his past life and the people in it. However, as he approaches his hometown, memories start flooding back, and he remembers his beloved. When he arrives at his old home, he finds out that she has passed away, and he is filled with grief and regret for not returning sooner.
