The Turn of the Tide

The story follows the fortunes of the wealthy and influential family of the Earl of Loring, who are struggling to maintain their position in society. The Earl's son, Lord Loring, is a gambler and a spendthrift, and his reckless behavior has put the family in financial difficulty. The Earl's fortunes take a turn for the worse when he is accused of embezzlement and is forced to flee the country. With the Earl gone, Lord Loring is left to manage the family's affairs, and he soon discovers that the family is in even worse financial straits than he had imagined. Desperate to save the family from ruin, Lord Loring turns to a mysterious stranger who offers him a way out of the financial crisis. But the stranger's plan comes with a price, and Lord Loring must decide if he is willing to pay it. The Turn of the Tide is a gripping story of love, loyalty, and betrayal, set against the backdrop of the Edwardian era.
