Frederick L. Lipman

Frederick L. Lipman (1876-1951) was an American lawyer and author. He was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and graduated from the University of Pennsylvania Law School in 1898. He practiced law in Philadelphia for over fifty years, specializing in corporate and tax law. He was a partner in the law firm of Lipman, Warfield & Katz. Lipman was a prolific author, writing several books on corporate and tax law. His most famous work is Creating Capital, which was published in 1918. The book was a comprehensive guide to the formation and operation of corporations, and was widely used by lawyers and businesspeople. Lipman also wrote several other books on corporate and tax law, including The Law of Corporations (1921), The Law of Taxation (1922), and The Law of Business Organizations (1925). Lipman was a member of the American Bar Association, the Pennsylvania Bar Association, and the Philadelphia Bar Association. He was also a member of the American Law Institute and the American Judicature Society. He was a Fellow of the American Bar Foundation and a member of the American Academy of Political and Social Science.
