The Sea Raiders by H.G. Wells (1896)

The story revolves around a group of people who are stranded on an island after their ship sinks. They soon discover that the island is inhabited by a tribe of savages who have been living there for centuries, untouched by civilization. As the survivors try to find a way off the island, they realize that the natives are not as primitive as they initially thought.
