Herbert Jenkins

Herbert Jenkins (1876–1923) was an English author and publisher. He was born in London and educated at Dulwich College. He began his career as a publisher in 1898, and in 1902 he founded Herbert Jenkins Ltd, which became one of the most successful publishing houses of the early 20th century. Jenkins wrote a number of novels, including The Man Who Stayed at Home (1915), The Man Who Knew Too Much (1922), and The Man Who Lost Himself (1923). He also wrote several non-fiction works, including The Romance of the Motor Car (1912) and The Romance of the Air (1913). Jenkins was a popular figure in London literary circles, and was a friend of many prominent authors, including P.G. Wodehouse, A.A. Milne, and Arthur Conan Doyle. He died in 1923 at the age of 47.
