Jack Douglas is an American author and journalist. He is best known for his books about the Vietnam War, including The Fields of Bamboo, The Nightingale's Song, and The War Within. He has also written extensively about the American military, including his book The Warriors, which was made into a movie starring Tom Berenger and Willem Dafoe. Douglas has also written several books about the American West, including The Last Cowboy and The Cowboy Way. He has been a contributing editor to The New York Times Magazine and has written for many other publications, including The Washington Post, The Los Angeles Times, and The Wall Street Journal.
