The Cat and the Canary is a three-act melodrama by John Willard. It is set in the 1920s and tells the story of a group of people who have gathered at the isolated mansion of the late Cyrus West. The group is there to hear the reading of West’s will, which will determine who will inherit his fortune. However, the will is not as straightforward as it seems, and the group soon finds itself in the middle of a sinister plot involving a mysterious cat and a sinister canary. As the night progresses, the group must unravel the mystery and discover the truth behind the will before it is too late.
