John York Cabot (1902-1962) was an American author and journalist. He was born in Boston, Massachusetts and attended Harvard University. He wrote several books, including The Hammer of the Gods (1944), a novel about the Norse gods and their adventures in the modern world. He also wrote several non-fiction books, including The Story of the American Revolution (1947) and The Story of the Civil War (1951). He was a correspondent for the Boston Globe and the New York Times, and wrote for many other newspapers and magazines. He was a member of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences and the American Philosophical Society. He died in 1962 in Cambridge, Massachusetts.
