Keith West was an American author and journalist who wrote several books in the 1930s. He was born in New York City in 1891 and attended Columbia University. After graduating, he worked as a reporter for the New York World and the New York Evening Post. He also wrote for the New York Times and the New Yorker. West's first novel, Hanging Waters, was published in 1933. It was a bestseller and was adapted into a movie in 1934. He went on to write several other novels, including The White Witch (1935), The House of the Seven Gables (1936), and The House of the Seven Gables (1937). West died in 1941 at the age of 50.
