The story revolves around a young girl named Ozma who has been imprisoned for over a thousand years by the wicked sorceress Mombi. The protagonist, a young boy from Kansas, arrives in the Land of Oz and discovers that he has magical powers. He joins forces with Glinda the Good Witch to rescue Ozma and free her from prison. Along the way, they encounter various obstacles and creatures, including flying monkeys and a giant spider.
