Ripple, the Water-Spirit

In a vibrant underwater realm, a joyful Water-Spirit named Ripple spends her days dancing among coral and crafting flower garlands. However, her happiness is marred by the sorrow of lost souls who succumb to the ocean's tempests. One day, during a fierce storm, she discovers a lifeless child washed ashore. Ripple and her fellow Spirits mourn the child and, upon hearing the mother's anguished cries, Ripple vows to find a way to restore the child's life. Ripple seeks the Fire-Spirits, believed to possess the power to revive the child. Despite warnings from her Queen about the dangers of her quest, Ripple is determined. She embarks on a journey through the seasons, receiving gifts from Spring, Summer, Autumn, and Winter to aid her. Each season provides her with tools: a breeze, a sunbeam, a warm leaf, and a snowflake, respectively. Upon reaching Winter, she learns the Fire-Spirits reside high above the sun. Undeterred, Ripple ascends through the clouds, facing challenges but ultimately reaching the Fire-Spirits' realm. There, she requests the flame to revive the child. The Fire-Queen informs her that they cannot give their flame freely, but they will if Ripple can provide them with jewels that do not melt away. Ripple agrees, despite the uncertainty of finding such jewels. She returns to the sea, revives the child with the flame she obtained, and brings him back to his mother. The mother, grateful but with nothing to offer, gifts Ripple a chain of pearls formed from her tears. Ripple then embarks on another quest to gather jewels for the Fire-Spirits, but finds that all her offerings melt away. Facing imprisonment for her failure, Ripple is saved when the Fire-Spirits discover the pearl chain. They accept it in exchange for her freedom, and Ripple returns home, fulfilled in her promise to the mother and having learned valuable lessons about sacrifice and the bonds of love.
