Malcolm Afford (1909-1958) was an Australian author and journalist. He was born in Sydney and educated at Sydney Grammar School. He worked as a journalist for the Sydney Morning Herald and the Daily Telegraph, and wrote several books, including Lazy in the Sun (1951), a novel about a young man's adventures in the South Pacific. He also wrote a number of short stories and articles for various magazines. Afford was a keen sailor and travelled extensively in the South Pacific, which provided the inspiration for much of his writing. He died in 1958 at the age of 49.
