Chilhowee Lily is a novel by Mary Noailles Murfree set in the Appalachian Mountains of Tennessee in the late 1800s. The story follows the life of Lily, a young girl who is born into a family of mountain folk. Despite her family's poverty, Lily is determined to make something of herself and to escape the hard life of the mountains. She is determined to make a better life for herself and her family, and she sets out to do just that. Along the way, she meets a variety of characters, including a mysterious stranger who helps her on her journey. As she travels, she learns about the world outside of the mountains and discovers the power of her own strength and courage. In the end, Lily finds the courage to make her dreams come true and to create a better life for herself and her family.
