Maurice Hewlett (1861–1923) was an English historical novelist, poet, and essayist. He was born in Weybridge, Surrey, and educated at the London International College and the Inns of Court. Hewlett initially pursued a career in law but later turned to writing. He gained popularity with his historical novels, including "The Forest Lovers" (1898) and "Richard Yea-and-Nay" (1900). His works often featured medieval and romantic themes. Hewlett was also involved in literary circles and contributed to various periodicals.
