A group of passengers aboard a Coney Island steamer experiences an unusual cold draft and a mysterious humming sound from above. Shortly after, a tramp steamer collides with an unseen obstruction in the water, leading to a distress call for help. As rescue efforts commence, a massive cake of ice is discovered floating in New York Harbor, accompanied by a plume of steam rising from its center. The ice's sudden appearance in the summer raises alarm and speculation about a new glacial age. As the phenomenon escalates, scientists and authorities scramble to understand the cause. In the aftermath, Varrhus is found dead in his wrecked machine, having succumbed to his injuries. Teddy and Davis return to New York, where they are celebrated as heroes.
